  30. A CSU and a DSU used to be different things and perform those functions today 
  31. on Digital Lines.  A CSU terminates the Network Interface into a local 
  32. interface.  A DSU converts a local interface into something that can be used 
  33. by gear on the site.  If one uses the ISDN model, a CSU takes on the roll of 
  34. an NT1 (terminating the U interface point and presenting an S/T interface 
  35. point).  A DSU does the adaption funtion from the R interface into the S/T 
  36. interface.  These functions can be placed in the same device and often are in 
  37. the US.
